Slaying Goliath is a documentary film project directed by Michele Stephenson and Joe Brewster. They
follow the journey of New York Select, a basketball team from Harlem NY, and their parents as they attempt to qualify and later compete for the AAU National Boys' Fifth Grade title. Through a combination of personal voice narrative from the filmmakers and cinema verité footage, the high pressure sometimes dysfunctional world of competitive preadolescent sport is revealed
